That was quick, just weeks after the Porsche Taycan’s release, it made more headlines by demolishing the indoor speed record. Deep in the heart of New Orleans, Porsche took its new Taycan Turbo S inside the New Orleans Expo Center to yet set another record. The Taycan after all, is the fastest 4 door EV around the Nurburgring.
The floor is made of polished concrete, and due to Covid, the Expo center is super empty. This made it the ideal location to get up to speed and set the mark. The Taycan already can get to 0-60 in 2.4 seconds, but top speed has always been the pitfall of electric vehicles. With more and more EVs hitting the market, this helps clear up some of the worries in the electric performance world.
Leh Keen was the driver of the Porsche and hit a top speed of 102.6 MPH as verified by Guinness World Records, shattering Tanner Foust’s previous benchmark of 86 MPH.
